Belize COVID-19 Travel & Safety Protocols

WHEN WILL THE BELIZE AIRPORT REOPEN?
The Philip Goldson International airport (BZE) will be reopened on August 15th, 2020 to allow travel to Belize. Land borders will remain closed.

WHAT ARE THE PROCEDURES AFTER BOOKING MY RESERVATION?

  • Pre-travel process
All visitors to Belize must download the Belize Health app on their mobile phone. This will help authorities manage your movement in Belize and provide timely communication to you.

After you receive your booking confirmation, you will then register your travel on the Belize Health app. You will then be provided with a unique QR code ID which you will need on arrival in Belize.

The app is still in development and will be available for download via https://covid19.bz

  • Testing
Visitors are highly encouraged to take a PCR test (antibody test is not acceptable/do not take) within 72 hours of arrival which will fast track your entry into the country. A certified negative PCR result will put you on the fast track arrival lane at the airport. You will be able to upload your test results via the app.

If you don't have a certified PCR test prior to arrival, you will be required to take a rapid test at your own expense when you arrive at the airport. If you test positive on arrival, you will be required to enter a 14-day quarantine at an approved facility at your own expense.

  • Arrival
Upon arrival at the airport, there will be enhanced health screening and temperature checks. You must verify your unique ID from health app.

During your stay, you must adhere to all health and safety protocols in Belize including social distancing and wearing of masks in public. You will be required to check in daily via the Belize Health App.

The app is still in development and will be available for download via https://covid19.bz
